WHAT'S HAPPENING NOW?
TECH SY is delivering a focused programme of activity to strengthen South Yorkshire’s tech ecosystem, combining strategic and founder-facing support.
Current priorities include developing and implementing the co-created Action Plan for the region, along with delivery of the Women in Tech & Investment Taskforce, including the FoundHERy female founder programme and a new angel investor initiative.
We refreshed and reopened our Idea Validation Support programme to help early-stage tech founders test and develop ideas. Work is underway on a defence tech blueprint that highlights South Yorkshire’s strategic role in national security as leaders in advanced manufacturing, aligned with the South Yorkshire Defence Growth Deal.
We have also extended Tech Scale Up Advisor support for the existing cohort of startups, alongside ongoing work to build the region’s data and intelligence capability through insight, reporting and evaluation, and organising a two-day Northern Tech Summit in Sheffield later this year.
